Intimate Waxing FAQ'S

Q) What length should my hair be for waxing?

A) It should be longer than a grain of rice, so please leave any hair removal for 3 to 4 weeks.

Q) It is going to be painful?

A) It depends on your pain threshold.

​

Q) Will the hair stop growing after waxing?

A) Waxing makes the hair finer but it is not a permanent hair removal method

​

Q) How long should I leave it between waxing sessions?

A) 4-6 weeks

​

Q) What measures can be taken to help prevent ingrown hairs?

A) We stock an exfoliator which we highly recommend using 2-3 days after so that the hairs can grow freely through the skin.

Q) Will it grow back itchy?

A) No! in fact it will be finer and softer

​

Q) I am trans - Can I get waxed?

A) Yes! of course you can for the intimate wax price it is in our booking system which has T*.

Q) Can I get a wax if I am on my menstrual cycle?

A) Yes just pop a new tampon in before your appointment. However you are more sensitive and at least 3 days before your cycle.

Q) What type of wax do you use?

A) Hard peelable wax

Q) Can I get waxed if I am pregnant?

A) Yes unless your doctor advises not to.

​

Q) How soon after having a baby can I wax?

A) C section - Wait more than 8 weeks

    Vaginally - Wait more than 6 weeks

​

Q) Am I likely to suffer from any skin reactions?

A) You may suffer with red or blotchy skin after waxing. This normally lasts around 2 hours but may last up to 24 hours.

​

Q) What aftercare should I follow?

A)

- Keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat and friction during the next 24-48 hours 
- No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm only) 
- No saunas, hot tubs or steam treatments 
- No tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans) 
- No sport, gym work or other exercise 
- Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands 
- Wear clean, loose fitting clothes 
- Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools 
- No deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the area, other than those recommended by your therapist

Q) Can I have sex on the same day that I get waxed?

A) No we understand you want to show off your wax but we advise at least 24 hours before bodily contact, as the friction can aggravate the skin.

​

Q) Do I have to remove my underwear?

A) Yes if you are having any intimate waxing treatment (apart from Bikini line or speedo wax) please try not to feel embarrassed as we have seen it all before.

​

Q) What if I get aroused?

A) Sometimes it happens but it usually passes very quickly. As long as you are not behaving inappropriately we will carry on with the treatment as normal.

If any clients do not behave eg. Inappropriate comments, or actions this will result in the treatment ending immediately and you will be asked to leave. This also means you will not be allowed to book for future treatments.

Q) Can I bring someone in the room with me?

A) No sorry only the person being waxed is allowed in the treatment room.

​

Q) Is there a minimum age?

A) For intimate waxing we will not wax anyone under the age of 16 years.
